I’m forever trying to figure out how to best light our work to show both the detail of the product as well as the three dimensional aspect of letterpress printing. Best is a full sun window to play with but, it’s not always ready when I am. For this pic I used a metal halide lamp salvaged from a defunct marine aquarium. They say metal halide is the closest man made light source to sunlight. I’m not entirely sure about that, but this shot, with just one light source, really does capture the depth of the card. And check out the saturation on that light tan color…..thank you Heidelberg Windmill.
